Wikborg Rein Hires Former Ince Partner for Singapore Practice

Norwegian leader Wikborg Rein has landed a new partner for its Singapore practice, taking on Chris Grieveson from Ince & Co.

Grieveson is to head up the dispute resolution practice in Wikborg’s Singapore office from 1 April, having left Ince’s partnership in November.

The hire comes as part of a drive by Wikborg to widen its English law capability and gives the firm its first dispute resolution partner in the Singapore office.

Wikborg Singapore office managing partner Stephen Fordham commented: “With Chris joining, the Singapore office is now able to provide dispute resolution services to its clients. In May 2008 we established a formal alliance with a local law firm, Pan Asia Law Corporation, and through this alliance can offer representation before both English and Singapore courts and arbitration tribunals.”

The hire takes the Wikborg office to nine partners and 15 lawyers and is the latest in a string of international hires for the Norwegian law firm. Earlier this year it took on three new partners in its London office – Simon Tatham joined from Bentleys Stokes and Lowless to head up the maritime practice, with partners Clare Calnan and Rob Jardine-Brown joining from Curtis Davis Garrard.

Ince has already replaced Grieveson with the relocation of Denys Hickey from London to Singapore.
